• Yoga, Wellness and Healthy Cooking Workshop Series

    Learn how to shift into living a healthy lifestyle though Yoga and Food, from the comfort of your own home and kitchen! 

    This 5 Classes Workshop Series will take place via Online Zoom Meeting on selected Sundays from 1:00pm - 3:30pm (2.5 hours each) from October 2020 through April 2021. 

    Each session will include a themed yoga class, wellness information, and a vegan and/or Ayurvedic cooking demonstration with a seasonal menu to tie in to the theme.  All tasty recipes and notes will be forwarded to the participants before the classes take place.

    Joan D’Amico, Ed. D has completed her RYT-500 certification at Juluka Yoga Studio in Spring 2020, teaches yoga part time and has been a regular yoga student for over 20 years.  She also has a background in Foods and Nutrition, vegan and vegetarian cooking, and has taught cooking classes to adults and children throughout the tristate area.

    Theme: Balance

    1:00-2:00pm Vinyasa Yoga class all levels focusing on balance and stability

    Break 15 minutes

    2:15-3:30pm Wellness Information/Vegan Cooking class

    This part of the workshop will take place in Joan's “online” kitchen where she will demonstrate how to prepare a delicious balanced vegan meal and discuss ways and tips to lead a balanced and mindful lifestyle in these stressful times.

    Session 2: Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 1:00- 3:30pm ET 

    Theme - Gratitude

    1:00-2:00pm Gentle Yoga class all levels

    2:15-3:30pm Discussion about Thanksgiving Rituals/Vegan Cooking Class

    Joan will demonstrate how to prepare some vegan Thanksgiving dishes.  Discussion will center around the traditions and rituals of the holiday.

    Session 3: Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 1:00- 3:30pm ET 

    Theme - Relax

    1:00-2:00pm Yin Yoga/Meditation class all levels

    Break - 15 minutes

    2:15-3:30pm This part of the workshop will offer information about de-stressing the self, reflecting and rejuvenating during this hectic, heartfelt time of the year. We will be baking “virtually” and learning some tricks to convert your favorite family baking recipes into vegan treats.  Joan will demonstrate some of her vegan holiday dessert favorites.

    Theme-Introduction to Ayurveda

    1:00-2:00pm Power Vinyasa class all levels. “Let’s Heat Up”

    2:15-3:30pm In this part of the workshop we will discuss the doshas while Joan demonstrate preparing a seasonal meal following Ayurvedic principals.

    Session 5: Sunday, April 25, 2021 1:00- 3:30pm ET 

    Theme - Rebuild

    1:00-2:00pm Vinyasa class all levels focusing on backends and strengthening poses

    Break - 15 minutes

    2:15-3:30pm In this part of the workshop we will discuss strategies for rebuilding and remaking ourselves during the spring season. In the online kitchen, Joan will be demonstrating some of her favorite springtime vegan recipes, utilizing delicious fruits and vegetables of the season.
