You asked for it and we are happy to oblige! Sharon, our awesomest Iyengar yoga teacher will teach an Iyengar Level 2 class on Mondays. This will be for students who have some yoga experience, and is not suitable for beginners. (We have a level one class on Fridays). Iyengar is very alignment based and is not a flow class. It emerges from the lineage of Krishnamacharya, with the distinct elements cultivated by B.K.S Iyengar. Highly recommended! This class will REALLY put you in touch with your body. So come and check it out. We begin on September 14th. Class times are 10:20am to 11: 35am. Regular rates apply.
ABOUT: Iyengar Yoga: A number of different props are used since strong emphasis is given to alignment and precision in every posture. This also helps to place less stress on your muscles and is therefore helpful if you're recovering from an injury. B.K.S Iyengar began yoga as a very sick and frail youth, so his techniques are very much experience based. Iyengar yoga adheres to the 8 limbed path of Patanjali.
Iyengar Yoga Teacher
Sharon was certified through Naturally Yoga in 2005. She has studied various styles of yoga but her main source of inspiration comes from the Iyengar method. In June of 2013, she completed the two year teacher training program at the Iyengar Association of Greater New York. Sharon is currently enrolled in the continuing education program and is working towards her introductory level 2 certification.
Sharon’s teaching style is vibrant, challenging, and clear. Through her passion she leads students towards a greater understanding of the poses, creating a safe and effective environment in which to explore yoga.
