• Juluka Yoga Studio was conceived by a strong desire to provide more yoga opportunity for the growing number of practicing yogis and yoginis in the area. It is also our hope to expose and introduce yoga to those who have wondered and have been curious about it, but have perhaps been hesitant or even intimidated by the idea.

We recognize the full teachings and traditions of yoga. Hatha yoga is taught at the studio with a Vinyasa flow component. All our classes include some pranayama and meditation. The asana classes range from gentle, restorative, to a vigorous Astanga blend as well as some heated Vinyasa classes. We offer kids and teen yoga and Mat Pilates. We provide mats at no extra charge, or you can bring your own.

We truly look forward to meeting you.

Classes are taught by Juluka's new teacher trainers and recent graduates from our 200-hr Certification Program. We ask for an $8.00 donation to take the class (or you can use a class-pack) and 100% of the donations go to the month's selected and worthy charity/organization.

  • "Juluka" and Karma Yoga

The word "juluka" means "sweat" in Zulu. The studio was founded in December 2006 by South African native Mandy Grant, in an effort to provide a nurturing environment to embrace the practice of Yoga and create a channel of opportunity to give back to the community and those in need.  Juluka practices its Karma Yoga by providing a percentage of the profits from the studio to feed and clothe AIDS orphans in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Also, 100% of profits from our Community Classes' donations go to various other charities including, but not limited to:

My Sisters Place - Shelter for battered women and children
The Kindness Ranch- A sanctuary for rescued lab test animals
Peace4Paws - Providing Sanctuary and Homes for Retired research animals
Save the Chimps - Providing permanent sanctuary for the lifelong care of chimpanzees rescued from research laboratories, the entertainment industry, and the pet trade.
The Breast Cancer Fund - Works to connect the dots between breast cancer and exposures to chemicals and radiation in our everyday environments.
    Mylestone - Equine Rescue
Mary Padi & Family - Paying for their school fees in South Africa

We also donate to the surrounding pubic schools: Westwood, Hillsdale, & Montvale districts for many of their fundraisers.

  • Outstanding customer service. Owner, Mandy Grant is a treasure. Classes offer a variety of modifications for any level. Intermediate yogis will be challenged. Not commercial or pretentious, this is real yoga in an inviting atmosphere. Great place to clear your mind and get fit.

    Simply great yoga Christine Baran

  • With the popularity of yoga it is becoming harder and harder to find a traditional yoga studio with emphasis on the fundamentals of yoga and not all the latest yoga fads that the western world made so popular. Juluka training is intense and thorough and a bit organic, meaning students are encouraged to spend time outside the studio learning. The journey is filled with love and support and just the right amount of guidance that allows a student room to flourish on their own.
